No. 3 Road in Richmond looked very different from how it is today in the early to mid-2000s. Where SkyTrain’s Canada Line has its above-ground portion today was once a northbound travel lane for general traffic, while what is now the northbound general travel lane was a busway for the former 98 B-Line. When construction of the Canada Line track commenced, the current state of the throughway gradually began to take shape. This photo by Scott Haskill, taken on his trip to Metro Vancouver in 2004, shows what the intersection of No. 3 and Lansdowne Road once looked like. More of Scott’s photos depicting the 98 and its busway can be found in our gallery.
