; 99/4: Ex-BCT ;00/09*:RTC-307 05/02:I was driving my car along 152nd Monday (Feb. 14th 2005) AM on my way to an
appointment in Maple Ridge when I came up a road closure at 96th Ave.
STC coach 4273 was involved in an MVA at NB 152nd f/s 96th and 152
was completely shut NB. It would appear the coach was minding its
own business at the bus stop when it was rear ended by a one tonne
flat deck truck. The impact looked quite severe as the left rear
corner of the coach was missing....essentially the rear signal
housing from the radiator service door to the bumper was gone. The
truck appeared to have caved in right up to the windshield. An
ambulance was just leaving as I went by and RCMP was doing an
investigation along with the Transit Supervisor. One of the more
serious rear-enders in a long time. Depending on the passenger load,
there could easily have been numerous injuries on the coach judging
by the damage. {JW}
