1M8TRMTA0XP060782 | 1079 | Gray Line Of Vancouver | M.C.I. | 102EL3 | 99/4 | | | ACTIVE | acquired new; acq: 1999;ret: -; painted in "Thomas Cook Holidays" colours;leased from Laidlaw 06/01:102EL3 #1079 (1M8TRMTA0XP060782) was in the Gray Line of Vancouver
fleet until March 26, 2005. On that day, it was involved in an
accident near Whistler, BC and ended up on its right side. The coach
received heavy damage, and was towed to the Vancouver shop. After
sitting there for a few days, it was apparently moved to the shop of
Gray Line of Victoria for repairs.
This all happened while Rocky Mountaineer Vacations (RMV) was
negotiating with Laidlaw/Greyhound for the purchase of the three
western Gray Line franchaises (Banff, Vancouver & Victoria). From
what I was able to find out, RMV was not interested in purchasing
1079 as part of the package and it remained with Laidlaw/Greyhound.
>From what we knew in Vancouver, 1079 was still sitting in Victoria
awaiting its fate.
Obviously, it now appears that the coach was repaired and that it
remained with Laidlaw/Greyhound and was moved east.(PK)
